Signal Mountain Youth Baseball is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. Serving the Signal Mountain community for over 30 years, we have a robust youth baseball league that is in need of continued support from local businesses.

Jarred Thompson, Recreation Director
The Town offers extensive opportunities for indoor and outdoor recreation. The Recreation Department, under the direction of Jarred Thompson and his staff, oversees the management and maintenance of Town recreational facilities, local parks and trails and provides organized recreation services ranging from youth/adult softball, baseball, and basketball to gymnastics, swimming, tennis, flag football and Lacrosse.
The Recreation Director announces the Town’s summer, fall, winter and spring recreation programs at the beginning of each season to provide information for activities, sports, and camps as well as schedules and fees. Check the website or call the Recreation Department for additional information or questions at (423) 551-8316 or 531-4733.

The Town’s gym is located in the Paul Mathes Community Center, located at the Town Hall Complex at 1111 Ridgeway Avenue. It is open to the public for a variety of programs such as basketball free play (see schedule), league play (youth and adult), pickle ball and more. The gym is available for rent by groups or individuals for birthday parties or other special events.
In the months of December, January, February and March, the Town gym is home to boys and girls (ages 6-10) basketball teams. Approximately 300 children meet twice a week to practice. The Town schedules supervised free play for children and adults seven days a week. Check the schedule for free play. This schedule is also posted at the gym.

The Town maintains four baseball fields for the use of Signal Mountain Youth Baseball players, approximately 600 Signal Mountain children (ages 5-14). Other fields are used for Lacrosse and flag football.
Signal Mountain participates in Dixie Youth Baseball “A” for the youngest players through “AA” and “AAA” up to “Major” league play and “All Stars”.
The Town maintains three softball fields for the use of the girls (ages 5-17) softball league and adult slow-pitch league play.

Pool Season Pass Form
The Town Pool is located at the Town Hall Complex at 1111 Ridgeway Avenue. It is a 500,000 Olympic-size outdoor pool with a separate baby pool. The pool is open from the end of May until Labor Day for public swimming, swimming lessons (Beginner and Advanced Beginner), and lap swimming. The pool may also be rented for special events or birthday parties. Fees, rules and hours of operation are posted. There is a food bar on site for snacks.
A resident or non-resident card is necessary to enter the pool. Registration for pool membership are now being accepted. Seasonal fees are $200 for residents, $300 for non-residents. There are also day pass options available for $7 >6 YO and $5 for <6YO. Please bring your registration form and cash/check to the Recreation office, weekdays 9:00-3:00, to obtain your membership cards. Please note : If you need to pay with a credit card, those will be accepted at Town Hall, and a 3.5% convenience fee will be added. The pool is also available to be rented for parties and events. For more information and availability, please email [email protected] Signal Mountain Green Giants The Signal Mountain Green Giants Swim Team has been swimming as a team since the 1950’s. The team participates in swim meets as part of the Chattanooga Area Swim League. The Green Giants Dive Team participates in competitive events and at dual meets. Age groups for boys and girls’ events range from 8 and under to 18 years. There are opportunities for the novice as well as the seasoned swimmer or diver. Six open courts are located in the Town Hall Complex.You may reserve courts at a rate of $3.00 per hour per court. Contact Jarred Thompson at (423) 551-8316 to make a reservation. Four additional all-weather courts (and a basketball goal) are located on James Boulevard behind the Country Club. These courts are always open for free play. The Pumpkin Patch Playground in Walden, designed for all children, is also available for use by Town residents. The Town is also home to Signal Point National Park, which offers a spectacular view of the Tennessee River Valley. There are also 18 miles of trails in the Town that loop from nearby Hamilton County Shackleford Ridge Park through Prentice Cooper State Forest to connect Town parks. Rainbow Lake, once a part of the 1913 Signal Mountain Inn, is a frequent destination for hikers. The Cumberland Trail Head is located at Signal Point National Park. It can also be accessed from the Rainbow Lake trail, which begins on Ohio Avenue near the Alexian Village. Many miles of trails suitable for hiking, mountain biking and trail running are located just north of the Town in Prentice Cooper State Forest.
