Ek Gaon mein doh billiyan rahti thee. Wah aapas mein bahaut pyar say rahatee thee. Oonhay jo kuch milta tha, usse aapus mein baantkar khaya karti thee.Ek din oonhay ek roti milli. Usse barabar – barabar baantay samay oonmay jhagada ho gaya. Ek billi ko apni roti ka tukda doosri billi ke roti kay tukday say chotta lagga. Parantu doosri biili ko apni roti ka tukda chotta nahi lagga.
Ja b dono billiyan kissi samjhotay par nahi pahonch payi toh dono billiyan ek bandar kay paas gayi. Oonhonay bandar ko sari baat batayi aur ussay nayay karnay kay leeyay kaha. Sari baat sunkar bandar ek taraju le kar aaya aur dono tukaday ek-ek paldhay mein rakh deeyay. Tohltay samay jo paldha bhari hua, uss wali tarf say ussne thodi see roti todhkar apne muh mein daal lee. Ab doosri taraf ka paldha bhari ho gaya, toh bandar nay uss tarf say roti todhkar apne muh mein daal lee. Ess tarah bandar kabhi ess taraf say toh kabhi uss tarf say roti jayada hone ka kahkar roti todhkar apne muh mein daa layta.
Dono billiyan chupchap bandar kay phaysalay ka intezar karti rahin. Parantu jab dono billiyon nay dekha key dono tukday bahaut chottay-chottay raha gaye tu wah bandar say bolli – ” Aap chinta na karay hum apne aap baantwara kar lengi.”
Ess par bandar bola – ” Jaisa aap theek samjho, parnatu mujhe bhi apni mehnat ki mazdoori milani chahiya.” Itna kahkar bandar nay roti kay bachay huay dono tukday apne muh mein bhar leyay aur billiyon ko wahan say bhaga diya.
Dono billiyon ko apni galti ka bahaut dukh hua aur oonhay samajh mein aa gaya key – “Aapaas key foot bahaut boori hoti hai aur doosaray eska phayada ootha saktay hai.”

दो बिल्लियों की आपस में अच्छी दोस्ती थी. वे सारा दिन एक-दूसरे के साथ खेलती, ढेर सारी बातें करती और साथ ही भोजन की तलाश करती थी.
एक दिन दोनों भोजन की तलाश में निकली. बहुत देर इधर-उधर भटकने के बाद उनकी नज़र रास्ते पर पड़ी एक रोटी पर पड़ी. एक बिल्ली ने झट से रोटी उठा ली और मुँह में डालने लगी.
तब दूसरी बिल्ली उसे टोककर बोली, “अरे, तुम अकेले कैसे इस रोटी को खा रही हो? हम दोनों ने साथ में इस रोटी को देखा था. इसलिए हमें इसे बांटकर खाना चाहिए.”
पहली बिल्ली ने रोटी तोड़कर दूसरी बिल्ली को दिया, लेकिन वह टुकड़ा छोटा था. यह देख उसे बुरा लगा और वह बोली, “अरे, ये टुकड़ा तो छोटा है. तुम्हें रोटी के बराबर टुकड़े करने चाहिए थे. तुम मेरे साथ बेइमानी कर रही हो.“
इस बात पर दोनों में बहस होने लगी. बहस इतनी बढ़ी कि दोनों लड़ने लगी. उसी समय वहाँ से एक बंदर गुजरा. उन्हें लड़ते हुए देख उसने कारण पूछा. बिल्लियों ने उसे सब कुछ बता दिया.
सारी बात जानकर बंदर बोला, “अरे इतनी सी बात पर तुम दोनों झगड़ रही हो. मेरे पास एक तराजू है. यदि तुम दोनों चाहो, तो मैं ये रोटी तुम दोनों में बराबर-बराबर सकता हूँ.”

बिल्लियाँ तैयार हो गई. बंदर एक तराजू लेकर आ गया. उसने बिल्लियों से रोटी ली और उसे तोड़कर तराजू ने दोनों पलड़े पर रखकर तौलने लगा. भूखी बिल्लियाँ उसे आस भरी नज़रों से देखने लगी.
तराजू के पलड़े पर रखी रोटी के टुकड़े में से एक टुकड़ा बड़ा और एक टुकड़ा छोटा था, जिससे पलड़ा एक तरफ़ झुक गया. तब बंदर बोला, “अरे ये क्या एक टुकड़ा दूसरे से बड़ा है. चलो मैं इसे बराबर कर देता हूँ.” उसने रोटी के बड़े टुकड़े को थोड़ा सा तोड़ा और अपने मुँह में डाल लिया.
अब दूसरा टुकड़ा पहले से बड़ा हो गया. बंदर ने अब उसे थोड़ा सा तोड़ा और अपने मुँह में डाल लिया. फिर तो यही सिलसिला चल पड़ा. रोटी को जो टुकड़ा बड़ा होता, वो बराबर करने बंदर उसे तोड़कर खा जाता.
ऐसा करते-करते रोटी के बहुत छोटे-छोटे टुकड़े रह गये. अब बिल्लियाँ घबरा गई. उन्हें लगने लगा कि ऐसे में तो उनके हिस्से कुछ भी नहीं आयेगा. वे बोली, “बंदर भाई, तुम भी क्या परेशान होते हो. लाओ अब हम इसे ख़ुद ही आपस में बांट लेंगी.”
बंदर बोला, “ठीक है. लेकिन अब तक जो मैंने मेहनत की है, उसका मेहताना तो लगेगा ना. इसलिए रोटी के ये टुकड़े मेरे.” और उसने रोटी के शेष टुकड़े अपने मुँह में डाल लिए और चलता बना.
बिल्लियाँ उसे देखती रह गई. उन्हें अपनी गलती का अहसास हो चुका था. वे समझ गई कि उनकी आपसी फूट का लाभ उठाकर बंदर उन्हें मूर्ख बना गया. उसी समय उन्होंने निर्णय लिया कि अब कभी झगड़ा नहीं करेंगी और प्रेम से रहेंगी.

दो बिल्लियाँ थीं। एक का नाम किटी था और दूसरी का पूसी। दोनों सदा एक-दूसरे के साथ झगड़ा करती रहती थीं। एक दिन दोनों भोजन की खोज में मारी-मारी फिर रही थीं। वे एक मकान में खिड़की से घुस गईं। वहाँ उन्होंने मेज पर एक रोटी देखी। दोनों उस रोटी पर झपटीं। किटी उस रोटी को अपने मुँह में लेकर खिड़की से बाहर आ गई। पूसी भी रोटी पाने की इच्छा से उसके पीछे-पीछे बाहर आ गई। दोनों बाहर आकर म्याऊँ म्याऊँ करके झगड़ने लगीं।
दोनों बिल्लियों को झगड़ता देख एक बन्दर उनके समीप आया। रोटी को देखकर उसके मुँह में पानी भर आया। वह इन दोनों के झगड़े का लाभ उठाना चाहता था। जहाँ प्रेम है वहाँ एकता होती है, वहाँ शक्ति होती है। जहाँ झगड़ा होता है वहाँ हानि होती है। बन्दर ने दोनों बिल्लियों से झगड़े का कारण पूछा। दोनों बिल्लियाँ उस रोटी को अपनी बताती थीं। बन्दर बड़ा चालाक था। झगड़ा निपटाने का बहाना लेकर वह एक तराजू लेकर आया। उसने रोटी के दो असमान टुकड़े किए और उन्हें तराजू के दो पलड़ों में डाला। भारी टुकड़े वाला पलड़ा नीचे हो गया और हल्के टुकड़े वाला पलड़ा ऊपर हो गया। टुकड़ों को बराबर करने के लिए वह भारी टुकड़े में से कुछ काट खा गया। जब एक में वजन कम हुआ तो दूसरा पलड़ा भारी हो गया। फिर उसमें से तोड़ कर खाने लगा। इस प्रकार तोलते-तोलते वह दोनों टुकड़ों को चट कर गया और बेचारी बिल्लियाँ देखती रह गईं।

“Monkey and Cat ” story –
Once upon a time, two cats found a piece of bread. Foolishly, they started fighting for it. The first cat said it was his, but the second cat refused and claimed it to be his. A clever monkey was walking their way, he saw the two cats fighting and decided to help them.
Therefore, He took the bread and told them that he would split it in two half’s and share it equally among them. The cats agreed to his idea. But when he did this, one piece was bigger than the other. So, he took a bite to make it equal. This time, the other piece was bigger.
This went on for quite a while. He kept taking a bite off from each bread to make sure it was the same size. However, in the end, he ended up eating the whole bread. The cats got angry and asked him why he did that, the clever monkey replied by saying that if they had dealt with the problem on their own and shown concern for each other rather than being greedy, this wouldn’t have happened, but since they were stupid and could not do that, they both lost what they could have.
The happy monkey went home after enjoying a great meal while the two cats just stood there with a feeling of rats running in their stomach.
