At our dealership, we believe that comfort comes first. That’s why we choose the Audi Q3 over the BMW X1 in this category. 2020 Audi Q3 Values & Cars for Sale
I got this as a rental car for vacation. Disclaimer I won’t speak on the reliability or value for dollar as I did not buy this vehicle Exterior 3/5 Shaped like a basic small suv. Though I do really like the led tail lights. Headlights, I definitely expected more as it’s a premium brand. Not sure if the headlights are led or hid surely I could find out through a Google search but based on light output I’m sure they are led lights. It’s a reflector housing that gives only adequate lighting (not enough light down the road). This is just my opinion. Base model base wheels look decent enough. Interior 3/5 It’s pretty tight in there. I’m 5’11 265 and the driver seat is pretty comfortable, still a little tight though. There’s definitely a lot of room with adjusting the seat and the telescoping steering wheel. Passenger seat has manual controls. Audi definitely skipped out and saved money while still charging a premium for the vehicle. Passenger seat does not have a lot of adjustments and has a dang roller for the seatback, come on Audi. Additionally the passenger seat does not go back far enough. Back seat is extremely tight, especially with a car seat if it’s in the middle, it’s not wide enough. The center console/ armrest has a ton of adjustments. You would think this might be a great feature but it is not. It’s frustrating to manage the adjustments then if your elbow hits it the wrong way it will reset the adjustment and put it back in the beginning position. Trunk area, it’s small as it is a small suv. Adequate for a few small or medium sized luggages. Take out the car seat, the seats fold down and increase cargo space if you have to move larger items. Sunroof is nice though I saw what appeared to be rust from a leak in the upper lining yuck. Overall it’s an ok place to be while driving. Infotainment/sound system 3/5 Infotainment was just ok. Pretty easy to use. The reverse camera gets stuck on at times and is annoying. Also using Apple CarPlay disables itself sometimes causing me to unplug then plug in the cable that connects my iPhone. Sound system is actually pretty decent. There’s a little bit of adjustment for treble and bass only. The highs, mids and lows sound full and don’t distort at high volume much. I actually like the sound system. Performance/ transmission Power comes from a 2.0t that makes 228hp according to Google. Foot on the gas there’s definitely lag from pressing the pedal to getting the vehicle moving. There is also a bit of turbo lag which makes the power nonlinear which I don’t mind and actually like. The vehicle is a bit heavy and you definitely feel it in the turns and acceleration even if it is pretty peppy. I’d estimate the 0-60 at 7 seconds. Not bad at all. There is body roll but it’s rather compliant for a small suv. There’s definitely enough passing power for the average person. Now over to the transmission side of things. The transmission hunts for gears quite often even when driving it normally around town. Occasionally there’s a big clunk into gear enough to make you say geez. Dynamic mode helps clean up some of the foot to gas input lag and gear hunting. Stopping the vheicle is pretty mediocre as well. You hit the brake pedal and it has an initial sponginess but then firms up. I didn’t have a race track to test the 0-60 or 60-0 just the busy streets of Hollywood Florida. Overall the power is decent but that alone isn’t enough for me to truly enjoy the driving experience. Final thoughts and alternative vehicle This is a small vehicle for maybe having one kid and a small/medium pet. The vehicle is mediocre at best. I definitely expected more from a premium brand like Audi. I didn’t really pay attention to gas mileage but I got around 25 mpg. I wouldn’t recommend this vehicle until they fix the foot input lag and gear hunting. The vehicle I’d recommend though not a premium is the Mazda CX-5 with the 2.5t.

Audi Expected To Launch The Second-Generation A3 & Q3 Next Year: Here Is Everything You Need To Know!
However, according to the latest report by TeamBHP, Audi could launch the second-generation A3 as well as the Q3 in India in 2022. However, both the cars will be based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform. Internationally, the A3 is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 148bhp of power and 250Nm of peak torque.
On the other, the Q3 comes with three petrol engines and the power outputs range from 148bhp to 227bhp. Both cars are expected to come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, Audi is unlikely to offer diesel engines with the cars for the Indian Market.
Recently, Audi India announced an Extension on Standard Warranty, Extended Warranty and Service Plans for customers whose warranty and service period are due to expire between April, May and June. Moreover, the extension is until June 30, 2021. The automaker has taken the initiative to extend the validity of vehicle maintenance packages due to the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown in the country.
Also, earlier this year, the company launched the S5 Sportback in India. The four-door sports coupe retails at Rs 79.06 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The S5 Sportback is being brought to India shores via the CBU route. The four-door sedan is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI petrol engine offered as standard. It produces a maximum of 349bhp and a peak torque of 500Nm.
Thoughts About The Second-Generation Audi A3 & Q3 Launching Next Year
As we mentioned above, the Q3 was one of the most selling models and the A3 was the most affordable from the German carmaker’s portfolio in the Indian market. The second-generation A3 and Q3 will get a host of updates that will help boost the sale of the company in India.

Should I Buy the Audi Q3?
The Q3 is a well-rounded vehicle that’s definitely worth considering. Great as it is, there are several compelling options among small crossover SUVs. The BMW X1 has sharp handling, as well as more space for passengers and cargo. You could also consider the Volvo XC40, which has an elegant cabin and better fuel economy estimates than the Q3.

Audi Q3 Versus the Competition
Audi Q3 vs. Mercedes-Benz GLA
Redesigned for 2021, the Mercedes-Benz GLA has a punchy powertrain that rivals the Q3’s, and it’s available with even more-robust engines in the high-performance Mercedes-AMG models. Also, its total cargo space eclipses the Q3’s. However, the Audi has significantly more cargo room behind its rear seats, as well as more upscale cabin materials. Both models have similar starting prices.
Compare the Q3 and GLA »
Audi Q3 vs. BMW X1
The BMW X1 is another great choice in the luxury subcompact SUV class. Its engine has the same horsepower rating as the Q3’s, though the X1’s handling is more agile. Inside, the BMW doesn’t look or feel as upscale as the Audi, but it has a larger cargo hold, and its infotainment system is easy to use, though Android users may prefer the Q3 since the X1 lacks Android Auto. The Audi has more standard features than the BMW, including leather seats and all-wheel drive. In a side-by-side comparison, there’s no wrong choice between these German rivals.

Q3 Interior: High-Tech and Comfortable
Q3 Cargo Space
With 23.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, this Audi has a decently sized cargo hold for a small SUV. However, its total of 48 cubic feet behind the front seats is below average.
How Many People Does the Q3 Seat?
This SUV has seating for up to five people. Leather upholstery is standard, as are heated and 12-way power-adjustable front seats. Front sport seats are optional.
The front seats provide all-day comfort, although some shoppers may want to upgrade to the sport seats for their additional side support. For a subcompact vehicle, the rear seats are surprisingly roomy, thanks to their ability to slide and recline. Still, some passengers may find them confining after a while.
Q3 and Child Car Seats
There are two complete sets of LATCH car-seat connectors for the rear outboard seats. The rear middle seat has a single tether and the ability to borrow lower anchors from each side. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave this LATCH system the highest rating of Good+, which indicates that it’s among the easiest and most versatile to use.
Q3 Interior Quality
A clean interior with modern styling, soft-touch surfaces, and high-tech features helps this vehicle’s cabin rank among the nicest in the class.
Q3 Infotainment, Bluetooth, and Navigation
Unlike larger Audis, which have dual-screen infotainment setups, the Q3’s MMI infotainment system has a single touch screen. It uses haptic feedback, meaning the virtual button you touch vibrates to signal it received your input. The system is responsive and intuitive, and there are well-placed physical controls for climate settings. The standard wireless Apple CarPlay is a rarity even among luxury vehicles.
Standard infotainment features: an 8.8-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, four USB ports, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay

Q3 Performance: Dynamic but Thirsty
Q3 Engine
Powering this crossover is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The turbo-four has enough muscle to get you around town and up to speed on the freeway. It never feels strained, although there can be tiny hints of turbo lag when taking off from a stop. The transmission is criticized for its occasional rough shifts.
Q3 Gas Mileage
The 2021 Audi Q3 gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Considering the Audi’s standard Quattro all-wheel drive, those ratings are solid for a small luxury SUV. Opting for a sportier S-Line model drops these figures to 20/28 mpg city/highway.
Q3 Ride and Handling
The Q3 is fun to drive, with light steering and sturdy brakes. This Audi has a silky ride on most pavement, and there are five drive modes to adjust throttle response and suspension firmness for greater comfort or agility. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard.

Which Audi Q3 Model Is Right for Me?
Audi makes the 2021 Q3 in two trim levels: Premium and Premium Plus. The range-topping Prestige trim has been discontinued for 2021, and its features have been redistributed into packages. At the time of writing, Audi has not released pricing for any of the Q3’s packages.
Every Q3 comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, an automatic transmission, and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive. The main difference between the two trims is features. The base Premium is well-equipped, but it’s worth upgrading to the Premium Plus. It doesn’t cost that much more, and it can be outfitted with numerous comfort, safety, and tech features that aren’t available in the base trim. Shoppers looking for a sportier variant can opt for an S Line model, which is an additional $2,000 for either trim.
The entry-level Premium has a starting MSRP of $34,000. Standard equipment includes the MMI infotainment system, an 8.8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 10-speaker stereo, HD Radio, four USB ports, Bluetooth, leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power liftgate. Standard safety features include Audi Pre Sense Basic, Audi Pre Sense Front, automatic high-beam headlights, and lane departure warning.
The Convenience package ($1,700) adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, satellite radio, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The Premium Plus retails for $37,300. It gains wireless device charging, Audi Side Assist, adaptive cruise control, remote start, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a hands-free power liftgate, and the contents of the Convenience package.
An available Technology package ($2,700) outfits the Premium Plus with a 10.1-inch touch screen, handwriting recognition and gesture controls, a navigation system, Audi’s 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit, a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo, and traffic sign recognition. There’s also a Parking Assistance package ($950), which adds driver assistance features such as a surround-view parking camera system and park assist.

The Final Call
The new Audi Q3 is a compelling choice among luxury subcompact SUVs. It’s a well-rounded vehicle, combining an elegant, feature-rich interior with a comfortable ride and playful handling. It does have a few downsides, such as a coarse-shifting transmission and below-average gas mileage, but those are relatively minor compared to its strengths.
Don’t just take our word for it. Check out comments from some of the reviews that drive our rankings and analysis.
